The music was so loud, I couldn't hear the furnace

.My daughter was having sleepover with her six best friends.

I didn’t realize how loud seven teenagers could be until they all arrived.

I was trying to watch television, but the music was so loud I couldn’t hear it. I sat in the kitchen, but all I heard was the thumping of the music and the sound of the girls jumping up and down and dancing. I was glad my husband was on a fishing trip, because he would have gone bonkers. I went to my bedroom and locked myself in the bathroom. I was going to take a long bath, but I was afraid to leave them unattended for very long. My daughter came downstairs for more snacks, and asked why it was so cold downstairs. The girls had been so loud that I didn’t realize the furnace wasn’t running. I told her to go back upstairs and have fun, then called the HVAC company. When he arrived, he heard the noise and laughed. He said his daughter recently had a sleepover, and wondered if she was one of those upstairs. I told him they were the reason I didn’t realize the furnace wasn’t working. He laughed and went downstairs to fix the furnace. An hour later, the furnace was repaired, and the HVAC technician had already left. My daughter was back downstairs with her friends. I asked if anyone had a father who was an HVAC technician. I asked her what her last name was, and laughed when it matched the name of the HVAC technician. They all thought I was crazy.
