Installing an air purification system for my grandmother’s house to ease her breathing troubles

My grandmother hit her 90s a year ago, and with old age comes health issues she’d never had.

I am the only family member who still lives in the same area as her, so I care for her.

The last time she had a sneeze and continued respiratory irritation, the doctor recommended that we check the air quality in her home and any signs of pollutants like mold. Grandma is old but very keen on the state of her house, so I was sure we didn’t have mold, but it didn’t hurt to get the home service mold inspectors to come by. As we thought, there was no mold, but there were other indoor air quality contaminants that we needed to sort out. I had an HVAC technician come around the house to change the air filter and handle duct cleaning on a monthly and annual schedule, so we knew that it wasn’t a problem with dirty HVAC equipment. The HVAC professional recommended that we install a whole home air purification system because it would catch every pollutant in the house, including dust and other allergens triggering her. The technician explained that we wouldn’t need to change anything with the existing HVAC because the air purification system would be installed onto It to make it more efficient. I was tempted to get a smart HVAC system because it seemed like a better air purification system than ours. Still, it was too expensive to make that transition while the existing one was already functional. The technician assured me that full-house air purification help would also serve the house adequately. We made the change, and my grandmother has been thriving since then.
