Getting an electric heating system after seeing it with an influencer's home update

I’ve bought clothes and makeup based on the influence of social media, and most times, I’ve liked my experience.

  • I don’t know how my life became so dependent on other people’s influence, but I guess I’m part of the masses living in the age of social media.

My most recent purchase was major because it was heating equipment. I could just do a web search on HVAC products for sale, but no, I follow a home improvement content creator. In this particular video, she showed how her home had become cozier when she installed an electric HVAC in her living area. I wanted it immediately when I saw it. She had linked the heating company that had sold the HVAC to her, but I only picked the specifications and headed to our local dealership to see if they had it in stock. The HVAC specialist informed me, was that the electric heat pump would be compatible with my house. I didn’t need it as the main equipment in my space, the boiler was still functional. I only wanted it for a cozy and exotic look like I had seen. Yes, I’m vain, but it makes me happy. My furnace uses gas, and having an additional electric heating system wouldn’t be a problem other than the extra heater maintenance needs I’d have to cover. I was committed to the course enough to buy a wireless thermostat over the other types of thermostats they had because my influencer had the same for her heat pump installation. I also threw in a HEPA filter for good measure. I’m glad the heating technician was open to listening to all the ideas I was piling on him, including watching the video I’d seen. So long as it doesn’t give me repair trouble, I’m keeping it until I need to sell the house. I later went to the same influencer’s socials to gather energy-saving tips.
