Wrong Number

My mom called the other day and she was more than a little upset.

  • I was worried about her at first but then she told me that she was frustrated over receiving many phone calls asking about service on their HVAC system.

I was confused because this was on her home phone number and we don’t even know anyone who is an HVAC technician. I asked her the name of the company that the callers were looking for and then went online to see what the problem was. She told me and when I typed it into the search engine to get the right number, sure enough, her number popped up for the contact information. Apparently, the web designer had put in the wrong number and now, my mom was getting all the calls. What made matters worse was the fact that it had been listed on several of the top search sites out there. I finally got the right number and asked them to change the information. I was told that the add would only run for another few weeks and that they didn’t want to go to the expense of changing it. This made me very angry because my poor mom would continue to get these calls. We decided to put a message on her phone with the number of a different company in the area. I am sure that the original one was confused as to why they never got a call for service but I hope they learned to be more careful when listing contact info on their ads.
