My son had a mobile BBQ and a portable kitchen.

My son and his wife wanted to try something different last summer.

They had been doing the competition BBQ route every year, and had a lot of fun, but they wanted to turn it into a business.

Instead of doing the competition route, they wanted to try the food truck route. They bought a mobile BBQ they could pull behind their portable kitchen, and got all the licenses they needed to stop at different areas every day, and sell their BBQ. My son thought they were going to go bust, but he didn’t realize what a following he had. His first day on the food truck route, there were people waiting for him to park and set up. They had seen and tasted his food at the BBQ cook-off competitions, and they were eager to get it now. One man admired his mobile BBQ grill and portable kitchen and asked if he needed help. His wife wanted to get back to her regular job, and when the man said he would work for BBQ, my son told him he had a job. It was three weeks into his food truck route that he found out his cook was homeless. He was taking food every night, so his wife and kids had food to eat. He is now renting rooms in his house out to his employee, and their portable kitchen is being used every day, while the mobile BBQ is working day and night. He is making more money than he ever had when working a full-time job, and his employee and now friend, is no longer homeless.
