Winter is gone, for now.
Had I truly had any sort of comprehension of what this sort of winter season weather would be like, I might have said thanks but no thanks to this job. My life has consistently been lived far south of the Mason-Dixon line. I grew up way down south and never knew anything but mild winter season hot and cold temperatures that essentially permitted the heat pump a four month rest. But then again, those heat pumps needed it given the tremendous amount of cooling units that comes with living down there. I went to university down south and took a task not an hour from where I grew up. That office was lovely because it truly had zone controlled HVAC. I only had a cubicle back then but it was so nice to be able to adjust my control equipment in my end of the office. The direct sun heating could truly mess up an afternoon without being able to adjust the air conditioning system. I worked in that building for almost 7 years before I was offered a substantial promotion. That promotion came with the move to the northern regions of this country. And I mean north. The winter season here lasts basically many months. There is no zone controlled HVAC in this office. But I have an actual office with walls now so I brought in a space heater just to get by this winter. I keep that space furnace right under my desk. However, it’s the new furnace in my cabin that has easily saved me this Winter. As cold as it was for month after month after month, I was sizzling inside my home thanks to the heating from the heating system.
