Are you one of those people who are obsessed with brand names? My fiance is and it drives me bonkers.
- She would spend extra money on a product just because it has a particular name attached to it.
And don’t get me wrong, I understand that certain products are better than others and various of the brands that we know, and appreciate have been producing quality products for years. But personally, I don’t need to have the top brand on the market as there are other products that perform just as well and sometimes even better but get overlooked because of the name. For instance, when we were in the process of purchasing a new HVAC unit, my fiance insisted on getting a Carrier HVAC and he would not consider any other brands because she was convinced that Carrier was the best on the market. And yeah, Carrier is a good HVAC manufacturer. In fact, they are the pioneers of the central air conditioning system and have been around since the start of the air conditioning system revolution. And over the years, the company has worked on its status within the HVAC industry. But there are other companies that produce HVAC units that would be comparable to that of Carrier. For instance, Lennox, Bryant, and Trane are well-established HVAC manufacturers. But because they’re not Carrier, my fiance refused to consider purchasing one of their HVAC units even if they were comparable to that of a equipment from Carrier; Needless to say, we ended up buying a Carrier equipment because of the name, but if it were up to me, I would’ve shopped around and compared prices and quality with the other brands on the market, oh well, such is life.
