I get myself in trouble when it comes to shopping.
- My hubby plus I went to a marriage conference a few years ago, plus one of the sessions was on finances.
They speaker mentioned that there is usually one spender plus one saver in each relationship. I am truly the spender in my hubby’s plus my marriage. It is not good. I tend to overspend, plus I am super delighted that my hubby is a saver because it legitimately helps to balance me out. My hubby is always getting on to me for shopping too much. I just can’t help myself. Well, I can, but it’s not easy. I love shopping at thrift stores, although I still end up going over budget even at second hand stores. My hubby gets aggravated mostly because the things that I buy aren’t necessarily useful… She was not disappointed in my buys yeahterday though. I found a truly nice space heater for five dollars at a local thrift store. She had mentioned several times to me that we needed a space heater for our entrance area. It is closed in, but it is still truly cold in the dining room, plus she does not like walking into a cold entry area. I agreed with him that we needed a current space heater, but when I told him how much it would cost, she changed her mind. She said that she would rather just be cold than spend that much money on a space heater. Well, I got one for five dollars, so she can’t complain about that. I truly like our current space heater. It works genuinely well!
