Angela got in touch with the HVAC business and asked if they could tell her what’s wrong with the gas furnace? The lady laughed, and then she said that was what the HVAC business was for. Angela took a breath and said that wasn’t what she meant to say. She wanted to know if they had an HVAC professional available that could tell her what’s wrong with the gas furnace. She said they had 4 that were on the road, but neither were close to her house. If she didn’t mind waiting an hour, she had another HVAC professional who would be on duty, and she could send him to the apartment directly. Angela thanked her, and gave her all the information so the HVAC professional would know where I lived, including full name and address. When the HVAC professional arrived, he told her he was there to diagnose her furnace. The dispatcher had told him this was his first job for the day. Angela showed him to the furnace room, and she told him the oil furnace would not turn . He said it wasn’t chilly outside, and maybe the temperature control temperature was set too low to trigger the furnace turning on. Angela admitted to him she knew nothing about gas furnaces, and if he could do anything to get some heat in the house, she would be happy. He went downstairs and looked at the furnace. He told her he found the problem. He didn’t understand why, but the breaker switch had flipped, and the oil furnace wasn’t getting any power. He fixed the breaker and said everything should work well now.
