The gas furnace had quit working

Frank planned an elaborate Thanksgiving supper for his fiance’s family. It was the first meal he cooked with or without her help, and it was the first time they were going to meet him. He wanted to make the best first impression ever, so they would not think her fiance was marrying beneath her. Frank had all the ingredients to make the meal, and the recipes were pasted on the refrigerator, in the order in which he was going to cook. They were getting ready to cook, when he heard a different noise. The next thing Frank heard was silence. He looked at her, and she looked at him. The gas furnace had quit working. How could they have a Thanksgiving supper if there was no heat in the house? Frank was about ready to cry when Paulina told him not to worry. She got into her jeans and old t-shirt, and headed into the basement. She told him he could kiss the Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech as payment for saving the holiday. Frank doesn’t know what he would have done if his fiance wasn’t an Heating, Ventilation & A/C tech. The supper would have been ruined. Two minutes later, the gas furnace was running, and supper was cooking. Paulina was satisfied with the smells coming from the kitchen when he came in the door. They were going to take a shower before his family arrived, but they were there quite early. They laughed and opened the door. Pauina looked just like her dad, and he gave her a hug. He sniffed the air and said everything smelled so good, and gave her help while Frank was taking a shower.
