These are the new additions to the air conditioning plan

When my pal Ed and I first moved down here, I was so enthusiastic that Ed and I had pretty much negligible heating costs.

And that sort of spilled over to how we approached using the air conditioning while in the Summer. For sure, the high Summer heat and humidity are just a complete monster and overwhelming at first. So I figured that since I wasn’t paying really anything in heating costs that I’d just lean into all the cooling Ed and I wanted in the Summer. That’s one way of looking at it however it soon became clear that this was a foolish way of cooling the house. After letting the air conditioning just run wild for the 1st three years, I decided to start prepping the home in order to save on high cooling costs. From there, it has been sort of a little hobby for me to keep saving just a bit more each year when it comes to the air conditioning costs. This year was no different. Of course, I constantly start with Heating and A/C maintenance on the heating pump. And then stopping direct sunlight heating and sealing up the home really narrow are the next vital steps. But after that, I’ve added something each year to save a bit more. The greatest money-saver so far was really adding the smart temperature control. That Heating and A/C technology was a big money-saver at nearly 17 percent over the year prior. Yet, I still like to add a bit to the central air conditioning plan. So this year, I’m going to try and cook outside on the propane grill all Summer instead of heating up the home with the stove or the oven. It’s either that or try hanging up the wet clothes instead of using the dryer.
